The parents of singer Freddie Aguilar’s 16-year-old girlfriend, Jovi Gatdula, have given their blessing to the May-December romance.

In an interview on “Buzz ng Bayan” on Sunday, October 27, Joel and Violeta explained that they support their daughter’s relationship with Freddie because they are after the girl’s happiness.

“Kung pipigilan mo, lalo pong magwawala iyan eh. Baka mas mapariwara ang buhay. Kaya sabi ko, kung ano ang gusto niya, 'Sige, supportahan na lang kita,” Violeta said.

Good influence

She also shared that Freddie is a good influence on their daughter.

“Malaki po ang pinagbago. Natutuwa ako sa pinagbago ng batang iyon. Mas nag-mature na siya, mas may paggalang na siya sa amin ngayon.”

While she and her husband share their daughter’s happiness, Violeta admits she is hurt over accusations that they are after Freddie’s money.

“Ang tingin ng mga tao sa amin, mukhang pera kami, na kaya ang anak namin ay nandoon dahil sa pera. Hindi po. Hindi namin hinahangad ang pera. Parang insulto na rin sa kahirapan namin. Ayaw ko nang may naririnig ng kung ano-ano. Masakit kasi hindi naman totoo.”

Joel added, “Kinukutya kami ng kapwa tao. Ano ba kasi kaso ng anak ko sa gobyerno? Nangutang ba ang anak ko sa gobyerno? Pinaglalabanan namin, iniiwasan ko rin kasi ayaw ko makasakit ng kapwa tao.”

The couple hopes Freddie and their daughter will prove that the accusations against them are wrong.

“Magsama sila ng maayos. At sana kung magkakaproblema, ayusin nila. Tibayan nila ang pagsasama nila at ipakita nila sa mundo na talagang nagmamahalan sila,” Violeta said.

In a live interview on “Buzz ng Bayan,” Freddie, accompanied by his girlfriend, revealed that he didn’t plan on continuing their relationship if her parents disapproved it.

“Sabi ko ‘Babe, sabihin na natin sa magulang mo na meron na tayong relasyong dalawa kasi iyon ang tama. Kung kinontra ako ng tatay at nanay niya, hindi ko na itutuloy. Kasi alam ko nang hindi tama kung ayaw akong tanggapin ng magulang niya. (Kung hindi tinanggap) Sasabihin ko na ‘Maghintay muna tayo kasi hindi tama na walang blessing.'"

Finding love after more than a decade

Freddie said he was loveless for a long time.

“After more than a decade, gumalaw na naman ang puso ko. After ng mini-concert ko (in Mindoro, where he endorsed a candidate for the May 2013 elections), punta na ako sa dressing room ko, may humabol, siya. (Sabi niya) Pwede po ba akong magpa-picture? Hindi nga ako makalapit sa kanya eh, siya pa ang nagsabi ng ‘Akbayan niyo naman po ako.’”

Freddie’s "babe," meanwhile, said age doesn’t matter when it comes to love.

“Kapag sinabi mong 16, hindi naman ibig sabihin na porket 16 ka lang, hindi ka na pwedeng magmahal ng seryoso.”

The teenager feels she has found a lifetime partner in Freddie.

“Kung sasabihin ko na seryoso talaga at alam mo sa sarili mo na siya na nga, na handa mong samahan hanggang sa mawalan siya ng buhay, oo.”

     I have read your post with great interest. Guess there are lots of girls out there who have similar questions like yours. Please allow me to analyse your situation as a professional investor. 

My annual income is

which meets your requirement, 

     so I hope everyone believes that I'm not wasting time here. From the standpoint of a business person, it is a bad decision to marry you. The answer is very simple, so let me explain. Put the details aside, what you're trying to do is an exchange of "beauty" and "money": 

     Person A provides beauty, and Person B pays for it, fair and square. However, there's a deadly problem here, your beauty will fade, but my money will not be gone without any good reason. The fact is, my income might increase from year to year, but you can't be prettier year after year. Hence from the viewpoint of economics, I am an appreciation asset, and you are a depreciation asset. It's not just normal depreciation, but exponential depreciation. If that is your only asset, your value will be much worried 10 years later.

     By the terms we use in Wall Street, every trading has a position, dating with you is also a "trading position". If the trade value dropped we will sell it and it is not a good idea to keep it for long term - same goes with the marriage that you wanted. It might be cruel to say this, but in order to make a wiser decision any assets with great depreciation value will be sold or "leased". Anyone with over $500k annual income is not a fool; we would only date you, but will not marry you. I would advice that you forget looking for any clues to marry a rich guy. And by the way, you could make yourself to become a rich person with $500k annual income.. This has better chance than finding a rich fool.

16 HOURS BUHISAN EXPERIENCE

       Nag BIG event kami sa Tagum last Feb. 24, 2013.. umuwi ako ng 12:30am kasama dalawa ko na downline na si Florence and Kat... Sa may bandang Buhisan, di pa nakakarating sa Davao around 1:00am. Biglang umingay ang likod ng car, yun pala flat, hanap pa sana kami na vulcanizing shop na open para makauwi na sa Davao pero pag check ko, sabog na sabog ang gulong parang yung BIG EVENT sa TAGUM sobrang sabog hahah! FIRST time ko nasabugan ng gulong, kaya medyo di ko maintindihan nararamdaman ko pero sabi ko na lang,
"thank you Lord dito ako nasabugan hindi dun sa bukid"
kasi a day before nun, nag travel kami from Davao to Marbel, mas malupit yung lugar dahil malayo sa siyudad kaya kung dun sumabog gulong, mas mahirap talaga...

          So kailangan ko ng bagong gulong... Pero wala ng bukas na shop kasi 1:00am naman na, so tambay mode, wala rin akong spare tire at ito matindi, 19" ang bolt pero ang tire wrench ko is 20"! grabe power malupit! pero POSITIVE pa rin... Di muna umalis si Flo and Kat, tumawag si Up Rowell Buado, nangangamusta at sabi ko ok naman, magpapaumaga na lang ako, gusto niya ako puntahan, nasa Davao na siya pero willing siya mag punta pero sabi ko ok lang ako...

          Nasa gilid kami highway, tahimik na ang lugar, biglang may mga naka motor na dumating, parang mga killer itsura at mas nakakatakot itsura nila sa akin, haha... bigla sila nagtanong, 
"Sir ano po problema?" 
sabi ko, 
"na flat eh,"
sabi nila 
"ipa bulkit natin boss"
sabi ko
"sige"

                    Hiniram nila yung tire wrench, pag try nila, 
"ui boss, maluwag di man ito pwede"
nag try sila ng nag try pero di talaga pwede kaya umalis sila... 
Maya maya biglang bumalik may dalang mga tools, nag try sila, natanggal ang isang bolt, pero medyo nahihirapan talaga sila at umalis ulit, mayamaya bumalik, may dala dalang socket na 19" natanggal ang 3 pa na bolt, sa last bolt na tatangglin, biglang nabali ang gamit na tool nila, kaya wala na talaga sila iba choice kundi umuwi na at matulog na rin, 
sabi ko
"mga bossing salamat sa tulong"
binibigyan ko sila pera pang breakfast, hindi nila tinanggap, pilit ko binibigay pero di nila kinukuha, sabi nila 
"ok lang po yun boss, huwag na."
nakakatuwa dahil minsan bihira na lang ang mga taong ganun na handa tumulong sa iyo.
Pinauwi ko na si Flo and Kat para makapahinga na rin sila, so nakasakay na sila pauwi mga bandang 4am na.
Yung isa na naka motor hindi umuwi, ang name niya ay si NOEL TAGALA, nakipag usap pa, sabi niya
"wag ka mag alala boss, ok lugar namin dito, lagi man ako naga biyahe dito"
sabi ko...
"uwi ako mamaya umaga sir, kunin ko isa kong kotse, maghahanap ako ng gulong mamaya para palitan to, baka pwede mo tingnan yung kotse sir pag wala ako"
sabi niya
"sige po sir"

          Bandang mga 6:00am nagbukas ang kainan sa harap, kung saan ako naka park, kinausap ko may ari na baka pwede magpark muna sa harap nila, nakita niya may problema, sabi niya ok lang, at nakita niya di pa tanggal ang isang bolt, pinahiram ako ng tool kaya natanggal yung isang bolt...

          Bandang 6:30am hinatid ako nung Noel sa Tibungco para kumuha ng taxi, nag taxi ako pa Davao, medyo malayo rin, nakarating sa bahay, pahinga lang ng konte at alis ulit punta sa downtown sa shop kung san ko binili ung RX-8... sabi ko wala akong tools baka pwede maka hiram at need ko ng gulong, binigyan ako ng spare tire, dali dali akong bumalik sa Buhisan para ikabit ang gulong, text ko si Noel sabi niya 
"OK LANG KOTSE mo sir"
kasama ang driver ng jeep namin dati na si Joseph, pumunta kami ulit sa Buhisan para ikabit ang spare tire, nandun ang isa kong downline na si Edward Sumatra, nakita niya kasi nandun ang kotse ko kaya nag punta siya sa kotse ko at mag tulong daw siya, nandun din si Noel, bantay din sa kotse, Excited ako, kasi makakaalis na, kaya kumain muna kami, after kain, kinabit ang spare tire, pag andar ko ayaw umandar, tumatama ang spare tire sa Brake ko, di pwede patakbuhin, medyo nadismaya ako konti pero sabi ko na lang sa sarili ko, ok lang to. haha.. enjoy to... 

          Tinanggal ulit ang gulong, punta kami Davao, sumama si Edward yung downline ko, hanap kami brand new na gulong para na makabit na talaga ang gulong sa RIM ko... marami kami napuntahan na nagbebenta ng gulong pero walang available na 235/40 r18, dun lang sa TIRE Smart malapit sa torres meron kaya dun ako nakakuha, yung natapos na ikabit sa RIM ko yung bagong gulong punta ulit kami Buhisan para ayusin na, pagbalik marami nakatambay banda sa kotse ko, yung dumating kami tumulong din yung iba...  at nakauwi na rin, si Joseph nag drive ng yellow at ako sa RX8, balik kami sa shop, sinoli ko yung spare tire, sinoli ko rin yung tire wrench na pinahiram nila... hanggang sa around 7:00pm ng gabi, naka balik na kami sa Bahay.

          Sobra na akong inaantok habang nag dadrive pero pag tumitingin ako sa likod nakikita ko yung yellow ko na kotse, gumagaan pakiramdam ko, first time kasi nag convoy yung Civic ko at yung Rx8... nasabi ko sa sarili ko. grabe kahit ganito nangyari ngayon, enjoy na experience at di pa rin ako makapaniwala, 

DATI, bisikletang flat na gulong ang dala dala ko pauwi ng bahay, NGAYON, sportcar dala dala nasa likod pa ang isang kotse tumatakbo rin pauwi ng bahay.. nakakabaliw... 

          Pinost ko ito, natuwa lang kasi ako sa experience na ito, ang daming tao na mayroon pa ring mabuti ang kalooban, sobra akong Thankful, nag pray kasi ako nung umaga na yun, na huwag mo ako pabayaan dito Lord, sagot kagad panalangin, binigyan Niya ako ng mga mababait na tao, tinulungan ako sa oras na ako naman nangangailangan, mga taong nakahandang tumulong sa kapwa, mas lalo akong inspired ngayon mag UNO... Para makatulong pa ng mas maraming tao na magbago rin ang buhay... Pray ko talaga na pagpalain ang mga taong iyon na sumuporta sa akin. Sobrang bait ng Dios... Maraming salamat . . . ;)
